Getting started

Is Piggy Budget free?

Yes. Piggy is free to download and free to use forever for manual budgeting, savings goals, and debt payoff plans. Premium adds the daily activity feed, the Wealth Health score, automatic bank syncing, smart auto-categorization, subscription detection, bill due alerts, and shared household budgeting.

What does Premium cost?

Piggy Premium is $5 per month or $45 per year (the annual plan saves about 25%). Your first 14 days are free — cancel any time during the trial and you won't be charged.

What's included with Premium?

Bank linking

How do I link my bank account?

Open the Accounts tab and tap the + button. Choose Link a bank and Piggy will hand you off to Plaid, the secure provider Venmo, Robinhood, and Coinbase use. Your bank credentials are never stored by Piggy — Plaid authenticates directly with your financial institution and only shares the data you authorize.

How do I disconnect a bank?

Open the Accounts tab, tap the bank you want to remove, and choose Disconnect. The historical transactions you've already imported will stay in your account — delete them individually if you want them gone.

Can I use Piggy without linking a bank?

Absolutely. Piggy supports manual accounts and manual transaction entry forever. Bank linking is a Premium feature, but the rest of the app works fully without it.

Subscription & billing

How do I cancel Premium?

All Piggy Premium subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap Piggy Budget and choose Cancel Subscription.

Your Premium features stay active until the end of the current billing period.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all refunds directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for the Piggy Budget purchase. Apple's refund eligibility rules apply.

I bought Premium on another device. How do I restore it?

Sign in to Piggy with the same Apple ID, then open Settings → Premium inside the app and tap Restore Purchases.

Privacy & data

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings inside the app and tap Delete Account. We permanently remove your data from our active systems within 30 days. Backups are purged within 90 days. You can also email hello@piggybudget.app from the address on your account to request deletion in writing.

Do you sell my data?

No. We never have, never will. Piggy doesn't show ads, doesn't sell data, and doesn't use your financial information to train AI models. You can read the full Privacy Policy.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our database provider (Supabase). Your iPhone also caches some data locally for offline use, stored in iOS's secure storage.

Activity feed & insights

How does the Activity Feed know about my subscriptions?

Piggy looks for recurring patterns in your transactions — same merchant, similar amount, similar time interval. When it finds one, it surfaces a card on your Activity Feed. You can mark cards as accurate or inaccurate with a thumbs-up / thumbs-down to help Piggy get smarter.

How is my Wealth Health Score calculated?

Five sub-scores: savings rate, budget adherence, goal progress, net worth trend, and spending discipline. Each contributes to one composite 0–100 number that updates daily. Tap any sub-score in the app to see the underlying numbers and how each is computed.

An insight card was wrong. What do I do?

Tap the X to dismiss the card, then tap the 👎 thumbs-down. Your feedback gets logged and helps us tune the detection. If a specific card type is consistently wrong for you, email us — we read every report.

Troubleshooting

The app crashed or won't open.

Force-quit the app (swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone and flick the Piggy card off the top), then reopen. If it keeps crashing, restart your iPhone, then reopen Piggy. If the issue persists, email us with your iPhone model and iOS version.

My transactions aren't syncing.

Pull down on the Accounts tab to refresh. If a bank connection is broken, it shows as Reconnect — tap it to re-authorize via Plaid. Banks occasionally require periodic reauthorization for security.

I'm seeing the wrong category on a transaction.

Tap the transaction, then tap the category to change it. With Premium's smart categorization, Piggy will remember your choice for future transactions from the same merchant.
